Pentax Optio P80 review
The Optio P80 features 12.1 megapixel resolution and a wide-angle optical
4X zoom lens in a stylish, ultra-slim aluminum alloy body. It offers
high-speed Face Recognition as well as Smile Capture and Blink Detection to
capture perfect portraits while HD movie capture vividly captures moving
memories. Auto Picture Mode, with eight shooting modes, makes taking great
shots even easier. The large, bright 2.7 inch LCD screen provides for easy
picture review with intuitive, easy-to-read menus.
Combining approximately 12.1 effective megapixels with the PENTAX-developed
imaging engine and high-performance PENTAX zoom lens, the Optio P80
delivers brilliant, high-quality images with well-defined details.
4X wide-angle optical zoom lens, covering an angle of view equivalent to
approximately 27.5 to 110 mm in 35 mm format is ideal for shooting a broad
spectrum of subjects, from landscapes to indoor, portrait or group photos.
Advanced Fast Face Detection technology sees up to 32 faces in as little as
0.03 seconds for easy portrait photography. Smile Capture automatically
recognizes smiles and takes the picture when a smile is detected while
Blinking Detection warns you if the subject blinked at the moment the shot
was taken.
The Optio P80 captures beautiful, high resolution, widescreen, HD video up
to 720p at a full-speed 30 frames per second
Triple anti-shake protection to prevent different types of camera shake
Auto Picture mode lets the camera automatically determine the shooting
conditions for a total of 8 scenes (Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, Night
Scene Portrait, Flower, Sport, Candlelight and Standard modes) and chooses
the optimum settings for each.
Vertical Snap mode provides the ease of cell phone-camera picture taking
with the quality of the latest PENTAX Optios by using the OK button to snap
shots and the 4-way controller to adjust zoom.
A variety of digital filters, including Toy Camera are available to add
distinctive visual effects to recorded images.
D-Range setting improves images by adjusting both the highlight and shadow
areas of the picture for optimum image quality.
Digital wide function merges two shots into one image for ultra-wide-angle
expressions equivalent to a focal length of approx. 20 mm in 35mm format,
ideal for use by realtors on the MLS system.
Frame composite function (with 90 frames stored in the camera) allows you
to shoot pictures with decorative photo frames.
The image recovery function allows you to recover accidentally erased
images.
