Pentax OPTIO E50 review
The Optio E50 combines 8.1 MP resolution and 3X optical lens with advanced
features such as Digital SR (Shake Reduction) and Face Recognition AF &
AE to deliver great pictures. The easy-to-use Optio E50 is designed for
simple and intuitive operation so that even beginners can enjoy taking
great photos effortlessly. The Optio E50 accepts widely available AA
batteries so you can shoot with confidence when away from home.
8.1 megapixel CCD gives the highest quality images in an entry level camera
3X optical zoom lens covers a wide range of shooting conditions. Combine
with 4X digital zoom to achieve a total zoom capability of about 12X.
The “Face Recognition AF&AE” function
The Digital SR (Shake Reduction) mode reduces the effect of camera shake
and blurring when photographing still images. The sensitivity is adjusted
automatically, to as high as a sensitivity of ISO 1600, to match the
brightness of the subjects. This enables for photography with fast shutter
speeds so images with less blurring can be obtained.
The Optio E50 is powered by AA batteries so that you can shoot with
confidence when away from home.
The Auto picture mode lets the camera automatically determine the shooting
conditions for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, and Normal modes and
chooses the optimum settings for each.
Green mode automates the camera setup when shooting still images. A single
button press automatically sets the exposure, sensitivity, white balance,
and other parameters according to the shooting conditions.
Large, easy-to-view 2.4-inch LCD monitor allows easy framing and review of
images
Panorama mode automatically stitches a series of three images into one wide
scene
Recording movies at sizes up to 640 x 480 pixels with image quality
rivaling camcorders
