Acclaimed as one of the world's great sporting wagons, the Alfa Romeo Sportwagon is an uncompromising blend of sportiness and elegance, performance and balance. A true Italian thoroughbred, Sportwagon is engineered with a free-spinning 2.0L JTS engine with revolutionary direct petrol injection. Sportwagon is a design masterpiece. With the Villa d'Este-style Alfa shield grille, broad shoulders and pronounced wings it has a sporting physique.
Sports estate. There is no other description. Its shape describes an estate car with compelling good looks. The interior space has been interpreted with style and intelligence. The tail-gate opening is wide and the rear bumper is low for easier loading.
The split (60/40) fold rear seat comes with a ski tunnel. The load platform is double faced, with plastic coating on one side and velvet on the other. The plastic-coated surface is easily washable and the edges are raised to form a sort of interior container. Stowage compartments and torch holder, modular interior nets to hold small items in place, load cover.
The driver's cockpit is the fulcrum about which the entire passenger compartment pivots. This sensation is accentuated by a wraparound facia with a central console turned slightly toward the driver. A privileged space devoted to the driver: every control is simple, intuitive and within easy reach.
With their sporty structure and style, the Alfa Sportwagon's rear seats are comfortable and wraparound like those of the saloon. The rear seat passengers who sit at either side are also free to adjust the height of their seatbelts, while the central seat occupant has a third head-restraint and seatbelt with reel.
Seats with part of the structure in magnesium, antisubmarining beam, pretensioners, head restraints for all passengers and a comprehensive airbag system: front driver sidebag, front passenger sidebag, window bag and sidebags housed in the front seats. All this is housed within an undeformable passenger compartment designed to act as a survival chamber through the use of high-strength steels, protective side impact bars and structures built to crumple and absorb impact. The Fire Protection System (FPS) is another standard feature.
