Sony’s BDPS550 Blu-ray Disc Player with Bonus View and BD-Live.

Bonus View - Bonus View feature provides “picture-in-picture”
capability with select Blu-ray Disc titles. Access director or actor
commentary while the movie plays.

BD-Live - BD-Live brings you the next generation of interactivity, allowing
you to download and stream bonus content such as additional scenes, shorts,
trailers, movie-based games, and more.

Full HD 1080/60 p & 24p True Cinema Video Output - Most of all
Hollywood movies are shot at 24 frames per second, and Blu-ray Disc™
movies are mastered at 24 frame per second, so it is only fitting that the
Sony Blu-ray Disc Players can output your films at 1080/24p for a true
film-like experience at home. Of course, Sony Blu-ray Disc Players can also
output at 1080/60p for more traditional HDTV sets on the market. Either way
Sony has you covered for the best picture possible in Full 1080p!

7.1 channel analog output - 7.1 channel analog output provides connectivity
to older receivers, making the player compatible with your existing audio
system with 7.1 analog inputs.

Quick start-up mode - Quick start-up mode allows operation in less than 6
seconds from when Sony Blu-ray Disc player is powered on.

Dolby® TrueHD decoder built-in - Dolby TrueHD delivers lossless studio
master quality audio designed specifically for high definition
entertainment like Blu-ray Disc. An incredible sound stage, dynamic range
and a stellar Home Theatre experience await you with Dolby TrueHD.

Dolby® TrueHD /DTS®-HD bitstream out over HDMI (V1.3) - Dolby
TrueHD/DTS-HD gives you sound quality that matches the crystal clear image
of Blu-ray Disc. With up to 7.1 channels of surround sound and audio that
is indistinguishable form the original studio version, Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD
promises you an extraordinary surround experience.

DVD upscale to 1080p - DVD Upscaling via HDMI gets the most out of your
existing DVD collection by upscaling standard definition video to near HD
quality.2

Precision Cinema HD Upscale - Precision Cinema HD upscale uses high
bandwidth digital-to-analog conversion and processing to detect image
changes at the pixel level, rather than at the level of whole scan lines.
Additionally, separate algorithms are used to process the moving and still
parts of an image, resulting in sharp backgrounds with moving objects that
are free from motion artifacts.

x.v.Color™ for AVC-HD - xvYCC colour standard - Support for the
international xvYCC colour standard produces images with 1.8x the colour
space of the traditional RGB colour standard, resulting in images with more
natural and vivid colour reproduction.5

BRAVIA Sync - As a leader in products with HDMI connectivity, Sony has
created BRAVIA Sync to go beyond simple audio and video transmission. When
combined with a select number of BRAVIA televisions and other Sony audio
and video products, in addition to audio and video transmission, control
functions will be transmitted via the HDMI cable. With “One Touch
Play,” operations that took several steps have been reduced to one. Press
the PLAY button on the remote, watch the audio and/or the video
component(s) turn on then the BRAVIA television turn on and switch to the
correct video input.

Ethernet port for Network Update - Ethernet port provides connectivity to a
home network with broadband connection so you can download network updates
and bonus content.

USB port for BD-Live External Memory - Connect a USB flash-based memory
(sold separately) for BD-Live1 External Memory.

Xross Media Bar™ (XMB™) - Xross Media Bar™ (XMB™) on-screen display
is a fast, fun and easy way to access set-up menus, user controls, and
more.
