Pentax Optio M30 review
The affordable Optio M30 offers fun, easy digital photography to many
different users, regardless of photographic skill and experience. By using
an exclusive ultra-thin battery and miniaturizing the circuit board, the
depth of the main body measures in at a mere 18 mm. A high-quality aluminum
alloy texture is used for the exterior packaging, giving it a sophisticated
design. Loaded with outstanding image quality thanks to a 7.1 megapixel CCD
and a 3X optical smc PENTAX lens, this camera is ideal for photographing a
broad spectrum of subjects from landscapes, through sightseeing
photographs, to portraits. It also features Digital Shake Reduction, Face
Recognition AF and AE, and an Auto-Macro function that enables close-up
photography up to 5 cm in Super Macro mode and less than 10 cm in Auto
Macro mode. The Optio M30 captures smooth, high-quality movies at 30 fps at
a resolution of 640x480 pixels, which is comparable to movies taken with a
camcorder.

By selecting the “Digital SR (Shake Reduction)” mode during
photography, the Optio M30 automatically adjusts the sensitivity to as high
as ISO 3200 to match the brightness of the subject. Even in dark locations
such as indoors and night scenes, it effectively reduces camera shake and
subject blurring that occurs when the subject moves, through fast shutter
speeds
The Auto Macro feature allows the M30 to automatically switch to the macro
focusing mode which captures subjects down to 4 inches (10 cm)
Face Recognition AF & AE function
Auto Picture mode automatically determines the best settings for the
shooting conditions This PENTAX original function makes photography a lot
easier for users as it eliminates the necessity of making a number of
individual settings
High-quality extended movie captures QuickTime motion JPEG (640 x 480) at
30fps. camcorder. It is also equipped with the “Movie SR (Shake
