Panasonic SA-BX500 AV Control Receiver review
Creating home cinema that sounds as good as it looks
If the missing component in your home cinema experience has been that all-enveloping cinema-quality sound, the Panasonic SA-BX500 AV Control Receiver is here to close the gap.
The SA-BX500 provides 150 watts per channel and supports up to 7.1 channels of audio output, delivering the latest 7.1 cinema-quality surround sound from your 5.1 channel speaker system, without requiring eight speakers to do so. Its decoders are compatible with all the latest 7.1 channel surround sound formats used by the Blu Ray DiscTM such as Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus; DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.
Panasonic's unique, exclusive technology makes it possible for the SA-BX500 to automatically switch its internal circuits when it receives a 2-channel signal and reproduce the sound using the bi-amp, bi-wiring system. The speaker cables don't require reconnecting to switch between 2-channel and 7.1 channel sound.
All this dynamic, powerful sound is easy to access with the SA-BX 500, too. Thanks to its VIErA Link capacity, you can control it and all connecting components using a single remote, even down to the Auto Lip Synchronisation feature that adjusts any lag between image and sound on your VIErA TV.
Panasonic Digital Receiver Technology
High power, high-output, superb multi-channel sound without the weight of conventional speakers, all the way up to 7.1 channels: the digital amplifiers in the SA-BX500 bring the digital age to home theatre receivers.
Advantages of the digital amplifier
As CDs, DVDs and broadcasters rapidly move to digital technology, you're missing out on the full potential of these high quality sources if you don't have the new range of digital amplifiers. Panasonic's full-digital amplifiers can act as the core of a top quality home theatre system that fully realises the potential of the home cinema system, without a lot of paraphernalia and complex wiring.
Full digital processing
From input to output with unprecedented clarity and power: that's the amplification that results from the SA-BX500's full digital processing. You'll be enjoying the full potential of the most advanced audio sources in a streamlined, simple-to-use format.
Low noise, low distortion
Panasonic worked with Texas Instruments to eliminate PCM-PWM conversion (Pulse Coded Signal – Pulse Width Modulated Signal) to help prevent a loss of stability. Four-dimensional, noise-shaper technology reduces noise and feed-forward error correction, ensuring ultra-low distortion even in high-frequency sounds.
High efficiency, high power
Super high efficiency helps to save energy and reduce heat generation, which also helps to deliver high quality sound. Panasonic receivers are built for power, pumping out 150 watts per channel.
