Sony XMSD61X 1400W 1 Channel review
The XMSD61X subwoofer amplifier puts 300 watts RMS power at your disposal, plenty of power for a subwoofer. Got two subs? This brawny beast will produce a massive 600 watts to a 2-ohm load. The bass boost (0-10 dB at 40 Hz) kicks up the lows when it's needed. A handy remote level control allows you to adjust the amp's output level right from the driver's seat. A subsonic filter removes super-low bass frequencies that can detract from system performance. The speaker-level inputs allow for easy integration with any system (even a factory radio), while the preamp outputs simplify hooking up an additional amp. The cool gray finish and blue lighting look great, and all four Specialty Series amps (XMSD22X, XMSD46X, XMSD51X, and XMSD61X) have exactly the same footprint — a nice touch if you're planning a multi-amp installation.Key features
