2006-2012 BMW 3 Series Touring review
People have a natural sense of aesthetics. We recognise beauty straight away, be it by its proportions, its rhythm, or its symmetry. We simply know when something feels right. It's a judgement based on instinct, experience or perception. Or all three together - as in the case of the BMW 3 Series Touring. The curved front section with wide wind intake vents and the elegant shape of the headlights deflect wind in all directions as it passes the flexed arch of the bonnet. Accelerating as it moves over the long curving lines of its gently sloping roof it then disappears as quickly as it arrives - the BMW 3 Series Touring continues on unperturbed leaving wind resistance far behind. A sporting and aesthetic design that can only mean one thing - it's a BMW. Beauty needs space to unfold in. Luxurious, modern or sporty: the BMW 3 Series Touring allows you to define the interior style you want. Numerous colours and high-quality materials are available to you, with a plethora of possible combinations. Optionally, the BMW 3 Series Touring is also available with a navigation system including iDrive. This innovative operating concept allows you to configure and control a large number of secondary functions. And it's all done very intuitively, using a single Controller in the centre console. The information appears on the Control Display - a glare-free monitor located on the dashboard that's quick and easy to read. Functions that are used more frequently, however, remain accessible via dedicated buttons and switches. Thanks to its efficient performance and 177 bhp of outstanding power, the BMW 323i effortlessly accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.2 seconds. Its unrivalled smoothness ensures you hardly notice a thing and its discrete temperament hallmarks the athletic character of this unique aluminium-magnesium powerplant. Power alone is not enough. It has to be made to work in the place where it is needed. That's why the BMW 3 Series Touring features a gearbox that transmits power to the road in the way that only a BMW can do it: with precision and elegance, with immediate response and efficiency. Six gears as standard are available to bring about the connection between engine and wheels, power and movement, technology and driving pleasure.
