The 4WD with the soul of a sports car.
The terms 'sporty' and 'car-like' don't usually apply to four-wheel drive wagons, however this is the best way to describe the Tribute.
With years of sports car experience to draw on - witness the MX-5, RX-7 and up coming RX-8 - Mazda's Tribute 4WD wagon range combines practicality and off road capability with car like handling and performance.
It achieves this by employing sophisticated multi-link suspension, precise rack and pinion steering, car-like monocoque construction and offers the choice of 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, or powerful 24-valve, 150 kilowatt 3.0 litre V6 engines.
A five speed manual transmission with floor mounted lever is offered with the 2.0 litre model while a four speed electronic automatic transmission with column mounted selector is fitted to the V6 models.
The Tribute is a sophisticated and refined vehicle which offers many features normally found in luxury cars including air conditioning which is standard across the range, along with dual airbags, power operated windows and rear view mirrors, cargo cover, remote central locking and an in-dash CD changer.
