Nobody can resist the sporty, pert and muscular allure of the BMW 1 Series Coup?. The wide-brimmed shoulder seamlessly interacts with the elongated bonnet and deliberately short rear. The interplay of the strong, compact car body and the airy and light roof further underline the vehicle's dynamic appearance. As the frameless doors wait patiently to be opened, this coup? is in no two minds about what it wants. It wants your attention and as soon as it gets it, it'll be hard to pull yourself away.
An elongated bonnet, sturdy occupant cell and long wheelbase: ideal dynamic driving qualities that the BMW 2002 has epitomised since the 1960’s. Powerful engines, precise chassis and rear-wheel drive: a concept that is valued today more than ever. The BMW 1 Series Coup? does not disappoint as it takes this concept to a new level.
As soon as you open the frameless door, you'll be desperate to climb into one of the four perfectly sculpted seats. The optional sports steering wheel, short gear lever, circular instruments and high-quality materials are all as eye-catching as they are functional. Dynamic, horizontal contours create a formal link between the front and the rear - if you like sports-style driving, taking a seat in the BMW 1 Series Coup? feels like coming home.
Efficiency means generating as much power from as little fuel as possible. This is achieved through a combination of BMW’s peerless engines and a range of innovations that together significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions, while actually improving performance. No other carmaker offers a comparable package of measures, leaving BMW vehicles such as the BMW 1 Series Coup? streets ahead of the competition.
The BMW Twin Turbo is the first twin-turbo direct-injection engine in this market segment. It features two small turbochargers working in parallel, each one serving three of the engine’s six cylinders. This means that the extra injection pressure is there almost instantaneously, for a smooth power curve. The combination of this technology with High Precision Injection means that the BMW 135i Coup? enjoys a unique competitive advantage: the fuel economy of an advanced 6-cylinder engine with the power delivery of a high-performance V8.
