1999-2002 Ford Ka review
The 1.3 Litre engine means you're unlikely to be on first name terms with the folk who run the local service station. Less time filling means more time to discover how smooth and agile Ka is.
The 5-speed box is fast. The power steering feels great. Brakes are big and effective, the suspension pleasantly supple yet stiff enough to be sporty. If you tend towards things technical, see the gumph on the Fact Sheet.
This is a world Ka. Also very much a today's Ka. So a lot of computer power went into the engineering and design. Ka has a big safety package. Dual front airbags. Anti-theft engine immobilisation.
Much of Ka can be recycled. It's fuel efficient and environmentally responsible. There are lots of little surprises – like the high tech headlights. The powerful beam is electrically adjustable from a dashboard control.
Every Ka comes standard with air-conditioning, power steering, dual airbags and an engine immobiliser.
